About Me
Having been a full-time postgraduate teacher of English for twenty-two years, specialized in academic writing, grammar, and vocabulary, I am not only well grounded in the history and principles of the language but also able to articulate the rationale behind specific linguistic decisions and stylistic choices. I have eleven years’ experience as a freelance editor engaged in copyediting, substantive editing, and proofreading in the humanities and social sciences. With expertise in MLA (9th ed.), Chicago (17th ed.), and APA (7th ed.) styles; British and American English; and protocols of electronic manuscript (EMS) editing using “track changes” feature of Microsoft Word, I have edited scholarly books and book chapters, journal articles, doctoral dissertations, master’s theses, research papers, course materials, manuscripts of non-fiction books (history, politics, religion, culture, biography, memoir, self-help, psychology, travel, and current affairs), and business brochures.
