Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Girls' Basketball Coach to lead and mentor student-athletes while fostering excellence both on and off the court. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing players' basketball skills, promoting teamwork and sportsmanship, and creating a positive environment that supports athletic, academic, and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and conduct basketball practices, conditioning sessions, and team meetings.

Develop offensive and defensive strategies to maximize team performance.

Teach fundamental basketball skills, including shooting, passing, dribbling, rebounding, and defensive techniques.

Prepare athletes for games through effective training and player development programs.

Evaluate player performance and provide individualized coaching and feedback.

Foster teamwork, discipline, leadership, and sportsmanship among student-athletes.

Supervise athletes during practices, games, tournaments, and team-related activities.

Coordinate game schedules, travel arrangements, and team logistics.

Ensure compliance with school district, state athletic association, and program regulations.

Monitor academic progress and encourage student-athletes to maintain academic eligibility.

Communicate effectively with parents, athletic directors, school administrators, and community stakeholders.

Maintain inventory and proper care of uniforms, equipment, and facilities.

Promote player safety and implement injury prevention and risk management practices.

Assist with fundraising, community outreach, and program development initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
-
High School Diploma or equivalent.
-
Previous basketball coaching or competitive playing experience.
-
Strong knowledge of basketball rules, strategies, and player development.

Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes.
-
Current CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification (or willingness to obtain).

Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel for games and tournaments.
Preferred
-
Bachelor's Degree in Education, Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field.
-
Previous coaching experience at the middle school, high school, collegiate, or club level.
-
Arizona coaching certification (if applicable).

Experience in strength and conditioning programs for female athletes.
