## Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate, creative, and student-centric Grade 5 Mathematics Teacher to join our educational team in beautiful Sedona, Arizona. ## Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum Delivery

Design and implement engaging, standards-aligned math lessons (aligned with Arizona Mathematics Standards for Grade 5) covering key concepts such as fractions, decimals, volume, algebraic thinking, and multi-digit operations.

Utilize a mix of instructional strategies, including hands-on manipulatives, visual models, and interactive math journals to accommodate diverse learning styles.

Integrate technology effectively into the curriculum (e.g., smartboards, educational math software, and blended learning tools).
Assessment & Data-Driven Instruction

Administer formative and summative assessments to regularly monitor student progress.

Analyze student data to identify learning gaps, differentiate instruction, and implement targeted interventions or acceleration as needed.

Prepare students effectively for state-mandated standardized testing (AASA) without sacrificing a deep, holistic understanding of the subject.
Classroom Culture & Environment

Create a safe, supportive, and mathematically rich classroom environment that encourages mathematical discourse, risk-taking, and a growth mindset.

Establish clear classroom routines and positive behavior management strategies.

Promote collaborative learning through math workshops and small-group problem-solving sessions.
Communication & Collaboration

Maintain open, proactive communication with parents and guardians regarding student academic progress and behavioral development.

Collaborate with grade-level peers, exceptional student education (ESE) teachers, and instructional coaches to support school-wide academic goals.

Participate in faculty meetings, professional development workshops, and community events.
## Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Mathematics Education, or a related field from an accredited institution.

Certification: Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate with the appropriate elementary endorsement (K-8) or Math specialist endorsement.

Fingerprint Clearance: Must possess or be eligible to obtain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Experience: Previous classroom teaching experience at the upper elementary level (Grades 3–5) is highly preferred.

Skills: * Deep understanding of upper elementary mathematical concepts and pedagogical best practices.

Strong classroom management and organizational skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
