About the Role

We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate AP Biology Tutor to support high school students in mastering Advanced Placement Biology concepts. The ideal candidate will help students build strong conceptual understanding, prepare for exams, and develop critical thinking and analytical skills aligned with AP curriculum standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and personalized AP Biology tutoring sessions (online or in-person)
• Simplify complex topics such as cell biology, genetics, evolution, and ecology
• Prepare students for AP Biology exams, quizzes, and assignments
• Develop lesson plans, practice tests, and study materials tailored to student needs
• Assess student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents
• Support students with lab concepts, data interpretation, and scientific writing
• Encourage curiosity, problem-solving, and independent learning

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Life Sciences, or related field
• Strong understanding of the AP Biology curriculum and exam structure
• Prior tutoring or teaching experience (preferred)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to explain complex biological concepts in a simple, engaging manner
• Familiarity with online teaching tools (Zoom, Google Meet, whiteboard tools, etc.)
• Strong organizational and time-management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Teaching certification in Ontario (OCT) is a plus
• Experience working with high school students (Grades 11–12)
• Proven track record of improving student academic performance
