Job Overview

We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Mathematics Tutor to support students across various age groups and academic levels. The tutor will help learners build strong mathematical foundations, improve problem-solving skills, and achieve academic success through engaging and personalised instruction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality Mathematics tutoring sessions aligned with the UK curriculum (GCSE, A-Level, KS2/KS3, or equivalent)

  • Explain mathematical concepts clearly and adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles

  • Assist students with homework, exam preparation, and coursework

  • Track student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents

  • Identify learning gaps and create customised lesson plans

  • Prepare students for assessments, mock exams, and competitive exams (if applicable)

  • Maintain a positive, encouraging, and supportive learning environment

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Science, Education, or a related field

  • Proven experience tutoring Maths at primary, secondary, or sixth-form level

  • Strong understanding of the UK education system and exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, OCR – preferred)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to simplify complex concepts and engage students effectively

  • DBS check (required for in-person roles or willingness to obtain one)

Preferred Skills

  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS) is an advantage but not mandatory

  • Experience with online tutoring platforms and digital teaching tools

  • Familiarity with exam preparation strategies for GCSE and A-Levels

  • Patience, adaptability, and a student-centric approach
