Job Description
Position Overview:
The Food Production Trainer in Hotel Management is responsible for delivering hands-on training and theoretical instruction in culinary arts and food production. This role involves developing and delivering high-quality educational programs, mentoring students, and ensuring alignment with hospitality industry standards. The trainer will play a key role in preparing students for successful careers in the food and beverage industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Training & Instruction:

Conduct practical and theoretical sessions in food production, culinary techniques, kitchen operations, and hygiene standards.

Teach a variety of culinary disciplines, including Indian, Continental, Bakery, and International Cuisines.

Ensure that training materials align with hospitality industry standards and best practices.

Demonstrate and supervise safe, hygienic food handling and preparation techniques.
2. Curriculum Development:

Design, develop, and update food production training modules and course content.

Ensure the curriculum meets national and international hospitality standards (e.g., FSSAI, HACCP guidelines).

Integrate modern culinary trends, equipment, and techniques into the curriculum.
3. Student Mentorship & Evaluation:

Guide and mentor students through practical and theoretical culinary programs.

Assess student performance through practical tests, theoretical exams, and project evaluations.

Provide individualized support to enhance skill development and career readiness.
4. Operational Support & Management:

Oversee the training kitchen’s day-to-day operations, including inventory and equipment maintenance.

Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.

Collaborate with other faculty and industry professionals to organize workshops, guest lectures, and field visits.
5. Industry Collaboration & Innovation:

Build relationships with hotels, restaurants, and other hospitality businesses for student internships and placements.

Stay updated on emerging food production techniques and hospitality trends.

Participate in industry forums, culinary competitions, and hospitality events.
Qualifications & Experience:

Education: Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management (with a specialization in Food Production) from a recognized institution.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in food production and 2+ years in training/teaching.

Skills:

Strong culinary expertise in multiple cuisines and advanced kitchen techniques.

Effective communication and presentation skills.

Ability to manage and mentor students with diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in Food Safety & Hygiene (e.g., HACCP, FSSAI).

Experience in academic institutions or hotel training programs.

Knowledge of modern culinary innovations and kitchen technologies.
