Position: Professor - Electronics
Reports To: Dean, School of Engineering

Role Overview:

The Professor of Electronics will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, conducting advanced research, and contributing to curriculum development in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering. This role also involves mentoring students, collaborating on interdisciplinary projects, and fostering industry-academic partnerships to enhance the university's reputation for excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Teaching & Curriculum Development:

   • Design and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Electronics and related subjects.

   • Develop and update course materials to reflect current industry trends and technological advancements.

   • Implement innovative teaching methodologies to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.

2. Research & Scholarly Activities:

   • Conduct high-impact research in areas such as embedded systems, VLSI design, IoT, and communication systems.

   • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.

   • Secure research funding through grant applications and collaborate with industry partners on research projects.

3. Student Mentorship & Supervision:

   • Mentor undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students on academic and research projects.

   • Supervise theses and dissertations, ensuring high-quality research output.

   • Provide academic advising and career guidance to students.

4. Administrative & Collaborative Duties:

   • Participate in academic committees, policy formulation, and curriculum review processes.

   • Organize workshops, seminars, and industry outreach programs.

   • Collaborate with other faculty members on interdisciplinary research and teaching initiatives.

5. Industry Engagement & Community Service:

   • Establish and maintain partnerships with industry for research collaborations and student internships.

   • Engage in outreach programs to promote the university and its engineering programs.

   • Support community-based projects and social responsibility initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Ph.D. in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.

• Minimum of 8-10 years of teaching and research experience, with at least 5 years at the Associate Professor level.

• Strong research portfolio with a record of publications in reputed journals.

• Experience in developing and delivering innovative, technology-driven curriculum.

• Proven ability to secure research funding and lead collaborative projects.

Skills & Competencies:

• Deep knowledge of Electronics and Communication disciplines (e.g., Microelectronics, Signal Processing, Embedded Systems).

• Excellent teaching, communication, and presentation skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to mentor diverse student populations and foster an inclusive learning environment.

• Organizational and leadership skills for academic and research initiatives.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with industry collaboration and technology transfer.

• Proficiency in emerging areas like AI/ML applications in electronics.

• Knowledge of accreditation standards and curriculum benchmarking.
