Job Description
Role Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Primary School Counsellor to support the emotional, social, and behavioral development of students aged 5–11 years. The role involves working closely with students, teachers, and parents to foster a safe and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counselling to primary students
- Support students with emotional wellbeing, behavioral challenges, and social skills
- Identify and address learning or developmental concerns
- Collaborate with teachers to implement student support strategies
- Conduct wellbeing sessions, workshops, and classroom interventions
- Work closely with parents to provide guidance and regular updates
- Maintain confidential student records and documentation
- Refer cases to external specialists when required
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Psychology / Counselling / Child Development
- Relevant certification in school counselling (preferred)
- 2–5 years of experience working with children (preferably in a school setting)
- Strong understanding of child psychology and development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of empathy, discretion, and professionalism
Preferred Skills
- Experience in an international school environment
- Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection policies
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with care and confidentiality
- Experience conducting workshops for students and parents
