In campus life, students follow a strict schedule of attending lectures, assignments and examinations which reduces them merely to robots that move on the programmed commands. In such a situation, stress is bound to happen at any point of time in campus life. Along with the day to day routine, one must include some activities that help us combating this growing stress. Below are certain suggestions which can help you overcome stress.
- Slow down a bit: whenever you feel stressed, just slow down your daily routine. This is essential to bring the increased heart beat to its normal level to relieve your body of any stress related tachycardia.
- Listen to some Music: Music is the soul of life. It regenerates the requisite energy for mind and body. So listen to some slow music. You can even listen to the natural sounds of oceans and waterfalls as it has calming effect on your body.
- Call a friend or a confidante: to discuss your problems and the ongoing life events, you can give a call to your friend preferably those who are not in the same area of work and study. A reassuring voice can be soothing for a stressed mind.
- Eat Right and Light: Your body will react the way you feed it. Eat nutritious food and avoid anything that causes increase in blood pressure. And do treat yourself with your favourite eatable once in a while.
- Laugh out loudly: Watch some comedy flick to burst out your stress laughing loudly.
- Relax your Mind:- Do some meditation. This quite time with yourself can give you a lot of relief. Yoga is also a good choice in this case.
- Exercise:- Even if for a minute, exercise improves blood circulation and gives the body cells much needed oxygen and freshens up mind.
- Maintain your sleep cycle: Make it a point to sleep on time and get at least 7-8 hours of sound sleep daily to keep your mind and body active.
- Take deep breathe in the natural surroundings. It gives oxygen to tissues and brings a change.
- If you can’t cope up, visit a doctor: If you feel that the level of stress has increased substantially and you are no longer able to cope up with it, then this is the right time for you to visit a doctor. Don’t delay!!
